About Cathy

Cathy Schlicht is a 33 year resident Dedicated Councilmember, and Honest former Mayor of Mission Viejo.  A graduate from Centenary College and Dover Business College, Cathy has spent her professional career negotiating business contracts and managing million dollar private investment loans. Cathy’s civic, community and charitable work has included serving as an Ambassador for the Mission Viejo Chamber of Commerce, a board member for Fun with Chalk, a children's charitable organization promoting art appreciation, a charter member of the Committee for Integrity in Government, and a member of Lutheran Church of the Cross where she has served as a church committee member.

Since her election in 2008, Cathy has relentlessly stood up for transparency, fiscal accountability, and has dedicated herself as a true public servant fighting for every day residents in Mission Viejo. Cathy’s convictions include: 

  • ·        Public safety remains #1 priority. Shall maintain Mission Viejo as safest city in California.
  • ·        Remained true to principles of fiscal responsibility. Never pandered to special interest money.
  • ·        Proven record opposing high-density housing.
  • ·        Reduced healthcare and pension liabilities for our residents.
  • ·        Authored resolution supporting Proposition13 and The Orange County Veterans Memorial Park.
