Cathy Schlicht is a true "hometown girl". She has lived in Saddleback Valley since 1978 and Mission Viejo since 1983. Cathy cares deeply about this city and has dedicated herself to upholding the Mission Viejo Promise.
During football season, you will most likely find Cathy expressing city pride at one of our high school football games, wholeheartedly cheering our Mission Viejo players onward!
Cathy graduated from Centenary College and Dover Business College. She attended real estate school in N.J., and completed the Paralegal program and escrow classes at Saddleback College. For the past 29 years, Cathy has worked for FHL Financial Group, negotiating contracts and handling millions of dollars in private investment loans.
Politically, Cathy has served multiple terms as an elected boardmember for the Saddleback Republican Assembly, and is endorsed by the California Republican Assembly.
Cathy's volunteer work includes Fun with Chalk, a children's charitable organization promoting art appreciation; and tending to the city's community sign. She was a member of CIG (Citizens for Integrity in Government) for many years. Cathy attends Lutheran Church of the Cross where she is also a church committee member.
Cathy is running because of disappointment in a council who has "turned off" to voters, lied to the public, succumbed to special interest exploitation, resorted to secret "closed sesssion" meetings, and drained city reserves through poor planning, wasteful spending, and massive cost overruns.
Cathy will bring positive change by restoring public participation in government, transparency and fiscal accountability. For the past 10 years Cathy has been an active ombudsman for our residents, researching city issues and expressing community concerns to the city council. Cathy will continue to listen to you, the citizen, and be your voice on the dais.
Cathy pledges to:
Cathy refuses to be bought by Special interest monies. Her campaign is a community grassroots effort; Cathy is the People's candidate- committed to preserving the Mission Viejo Promise.
Cathy believes we live in a beautiful city, safest in the nation. Her greatest desire is to safeguard our quality of life and return city council to the people they were elected to serve.
If you have any comments or concerns about our city, Cathy would be pleased to talk with you: 949-533-9878 .
Cathy will be honored to serve as your council member. Please vote for Cathy on November 4th!
